Tasty Tuesday: Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise Review

Vanilla & Anise by Jo Malone is reminiscent of the end of summer and the shift into fall. It is soft, floral, and hints towards powdery-aromatic accords, but is also cozy, creamy, and sweet with vanilla. The fennel-anise opening is crisp and slightly spicy in nature. Neroli rests behind the anise and fennel, ever so gently, just a breeze comes noticed here and there. The heart is blooming with a noticeable vanilla-infused orchid and lightly smothered in powdery white florals, along with a hint of clove shining through. The base is a haven of comfort and warmth with vanilla, amber, and tonka bean.

This is inviting and seductive, yet soft and delicate. As most Jo Malone fragrances don't have a huge sillage, you may want to try layering this with other fragrances. Layer it with something clean and fresh for spring/summer, or something spicy and cozy for fall/winter. This will usually last around 3-4 hours, as it is an Eau de Toilette. Bringing a travel spray with you in your purse is highly suggested, if you want the scent to last all day.

Tried Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise before? Tell me what you think!

  1. I tried this recently, simply delicious. As a lover of licorice and vanilla bean...this smelled so cozy and yummy to me. Loved it! I just wish it could have been heavier,(I like the strong stuff) I should give it another try, a full day to test on my skin to be sure. This fragrance is definitely in my favorites category of scents...and Fall-Winter is my favorite time of the year, and in my opinion, when all the best scents come out! :)

    1. I love vanillas and warm scents as well, a reason why I am so happy that it is finally Fall! Jo Malone fragrances are definitely on the light side, but maybe try layering it with something else you love to make it last longer and make it more personal!
